Ben, maybe it was a headache because of the 2 latch styles. Im pretty sure they interchange at a certain year/month. Not just model. Because I always thought ute and 4dr were the same.

coupes' have their own doors but can be interchanged with a 2 door or wagon door by changing the frame. the 2-door and wagon are derectly interchangable as i've done thie on my wagon. the coupe has a different door card that cover the whole lot of the interior face of the door whereas the 2-door and wagon have only a centre strip style card. as for utes i don't have one yet to find out anyone feel like donating me one or selling cheap!? or post the dimensions and i will measure both 2 door and 4-door doors to see if they fit!

well it's been about 10yrs since i had to replace the one on the ute and I'm positive it was a headache because a sedan door wouldn't fit!

Am i right in thinking that coupe and 2dr sedan doors are the same and are longer than the 4dr sedan doors.

Is that right,for some reason i thought the 1K ute door was the same unit as the four door sedan door,you never stop learning

hey thanks for that. the doors on mine are in top nick but the front quarters, bonnet and tail gate arnt to good.looks like ill have to keep me eye out for em. thanks

you will almost NEVER find new 1000 stuff especially body parts/pannels.

get freindly with a pannel shop and start trawling the trading post type publications as
not many wreckers have 1000's left either.

1000 ute doors are the hardest to find as they are different to the sedan! so find em and hold onto them.
front pannels are the same tho so not so many problems there.

We have a 1000 ute too and we have tried a few places around NSW to get replacement guards but they don't import 1000 parts heaps 1200 bits So if you find someone that has new bits let me know. Thanks

Best bet is ebay or other forums. Here is prob the best. And keep a eye out in your local trading paper and get to know your local 1000 graveyard owner (Thats you Mike)
