The micra engine is a great engine. There was one band from under 2 litre sport sedan series because it made to much power it revd very hard. It was built buy peter teig who is a sports sedan guru. The engine made just under 400 Hp at the fly wheel no body could make that power from a N/A 2litre so cams stopped turbos from running. Now you you can run a turbo in the a.s.s.a under 2 litre class but they have to run restrictors in the inlet so the cg13 wont perform. The micra engine weighs about 50kg with no hang ons so there is aood power gain just in the weight saving. I think it would be a great conversion i want to do it myself
And buy the way i have been talking to the feral errol he is liking the tida idea

DD more reliable to get high HP and when making high HP compared to the A. As for everyday there shouldnt be much difference.

Then micra engine puts out some good power if you want to pretty much everything about the micra go to this site www.micra.com.au i have owned 2 of them, the only fault with them is the timing chain guides wear out and the only replacement is from nissan and you have to buy every part seperatly and is very expensive, but a great engine and car, responed well to turbo as seen on this site, have a look, just finding a gearbox might be a problem, would be good though.

Fortunately nothing like them in the bore and strokes either
CG13DE bore x stroke = 71mm x 80.5mm = 1275cc CGA3DE bore x stroke = 72mm x 82.8mm = 1348cc G13B bore x stroke = 74mm x 75.5mm = 1298cc G16b bore x stroke = 75mm x 90mm = 1590cc Not scaled down either as even though the weights are pretty close the G series are just a tad lighter because the micra seems to be sand cast where the Suks pressure die cast blocks. Either way the CG are beefy and light.

yeah d i know, engenieering wise more like a sr but from capacity and power to stroke wise, more like a g series.
1.3 to 1.3 compared to 1.3 to 2.0

Hey unfamilia thank goodness its not the case. They are are not a scaled down version of suzuki at all but as mentioned the SR20 but with the ga16 head design :) even better than the suks!. They are available in the same sizes as the suzuki G series twin cam and actually even bigger.
The micra is available in a twin cam 1.4 litre in the last years where suzuki g series dont have a true G series based twin cam above 1.3 unless you use the sohc g16 block and swap the heads to make a hybrid which is going backwards as the sohc 16v g series is better in valve sizes and port shapes. Also the only solid crank version (no hollow mains) remains the 1.3 versions. The micra is a bullet proof engine that as mentioned with xhausts mods will match and even outdo many similar 1.6 engines. With boost now some are almost hitting 300hp and increasing. NA race version hitting over 10k rpm all day and speedway adopting them soon they are special. The main thing to remember is that datsuns are light and the running gear to be replaced should be the same. At around 80kg dressed and under that in race trim how can you go wrong?.

i belive errol was looking at the micra heads agaes ago but the enigine is very doable as compact providing you can adapt gearbox and dizzy.
They do go hard and are more looked upon as a scaed down version of the old suzuki gb13 gti motors. Groupe e cams and cam timing with ecu and free flow inlet and exhaust will have no trouble with other cars. Remember may have less total hp than some other conversions but chances are it may be quicker than some as you could get the power to the ground more easily.

Micra engine is a great engine. They are extremely restricted in the micra with 2 catalitic restrictive exhaust, restricted inlet etc. Good gains are to be made in this area. Just do a search on the available aftermarket options for these cars in the UK.
The engine is very reliable and revs hard. To look at it is a scaled down sr20. The problem is the dizzy is at the end of the motor and may hit the firewall in a 1200. But my daily driver micra still going with 200 000 on the clock, 1000 k a week and driven hard. You can view topic.
