On one of mine i used a heap of washers to get the slack out it worked for a while but was heaps fiddly to do! Nissan should be the trick about $50 for a new one.

is it too stretched to adjust and take some of the slack out? May not be an option, don't know how the 1000 clutch cables are set up.

Go see your Nissan dealer they should still have them available
If not I have one you can have if you pay the postage

where do you live?

Take your old cable to a shop that makes cables. They will then use your old one as a template and make a new one.
That is what I did with my 1200 one.
