Is'nt there a distributorless ignition that could work inplace of having the distributor stick through the firewall? maybe megasquirt's ecu and Fords crank triggerd ignition? just food for thought>

problem solverd. i used a stock non turbo rockercover and it fit. i also spent $40 getting engine mounts made and i had to cut a hole on the firewall to fit the dizzy in wich i didnt like doing. i had to use a vl throttle body aswell which is a upgrade anyway.

He was suggesting cutting the factory spring so that the crossmember could be modified to sit the motor lower. Then somehow bolting what was left of the spring on either side.

I'd say it'd be easier to ditch the spring and build some coilovers if you wanted to modify the crossmember.

Hopefully, this will help you with your explanation.
The spring is not retained by a bolt as you can clearly see in this illustration.

You should be able to get away with flattening the rocker cover. The mesh stuff on the underside of the r/c is just for PCV stuff... so bin it!

well once i took the rocker cover of and the top part of the inlet manifold the bonnet shut with a little room.

does anybody see a problem with cutting the rocker cover right down and leaving just enough room for the rockers as its clamped down with 2 nuts. there is somthing under the rocker but it has some mesh stuff aswell. does anybody know what its 4? is it important?
