On a more serious note at the end of the day I did have a student ask me to help him out and got a chance to drive his Porsche Cayman, it was without a doubt the best handling road car I've ever driven..............but I only have one problem with it, 50-60K will be my entire family a life time of Datsun parts!!!! (not to mention if I rolled it or grenaded the motor I'd be crouched in a corner sucking my thumb for years)

Ok so I took the Pokey (1200 coupe) to Porsche Club track day I was instructing at last month and the burden of Datsun fell upon me.
First the GX radiator needs boiled out , on 2 occasions the car sat 8 months with nasty water in it and after being in the car 15 years it's given up already................c'mon I flushed out twice with a garden hose..............now after 8 laps the water temp goes to 230 and the car will only rev to 8K
Second the clutch is starting to slip......................48 race weekends and 36 track days is all the clutch is worth? I even have the 550kg pressure plate in there!!
Lastly and most dissapointing is the idler arm: after crashing over the FIA curbing in turn 5 for about the 3000th time the steering got a good bit of slack..........charging into 8 at the car's mind blowing 86 mph it made really tough to 4 wheel drift smoothly..............scaring the death out of Porsche drivers behind me as well as those looking up in the mirror watching the twitching pogoing econobox drift across the road.
Not wanting to be "that guy" (the instructor who tells you to work up to speed and then puts his car on it's lid) I parked it.

This f$%%^ing Datsun habit..............I'm out $14 for idler arm bushings , $75 for roddin the Radiator and $50 for that new in the Nissan boxes clutch & pressure plate I bought back in 1993 off a fellow 1200 racer........that's nearly $150.

Well in for a penny in for a pound...........since I have to pull the engine I guess I'll put in the $25 12-1 pistons, $50 lightwieght lifters and the $75 hot street cam. Man $300 and 10 hours of my time...................this Datsun habit is draining , I can't be doing this every 15 years.
