#4 Re: PISTON RINGS FOR DATSUN 120Y

If your engine needs rings, & it is already 60 thou [1.5mm] oversize, then you had better measure up the bore to ensure that it is within service limits as this is the third & largest standard oversize. If it's outside service limits, then the most cost effective repair is a replacement block or engine as there are no larger standard type pistons available.

If the bore is indeed within limits, then you will need to visit any of the major parts houses, like Repco, but there are many others & order a set. You can even try your friendly Nissan dealers parts counter as has already been suggested.

The only other avenue if the bore is US is to rebore the block to the A14's standard bore size of 76mm & use A14 pistons. This will entail machining the rods to take the new larger wrist pin, but it makes for a lovely 1300cc class engine when it's done.

Not sure what you are asking here but it if the motor already has 60 thou oversize rings then you cant put standard rings back in. The 60 thou means that the engine has alredy been bored out and the AE is just the brand of ring. You may still be able to by genuine rings in oversize though if that is what you are asking ?
