This seems to have remained through 1200 production untill the powers that be decided that the Nissan Name was to be used.
Tyrie has suggested that this took place with the introduction of the revised engine in '74 & I'm not about to argue with that.

I have? I really have no idea when they changed, the datsun ones are more popular so you never know if cars bought today have their original items on them.

I think I've still got a couple of datsun ones if anyone wants them...

The best ones are off 1000's and dont have any writing on them.

I kinda wish I had one that said datsun and not nissan, I feel like the nissan thing is a black mark on the datsun legacy. Really I'd rather have one of the spiffy alloy ones.

Maybe some people want datsun ones and some nissan, there might be a little money to be made.

Not true. The "datsun" ones (as DD said) were fitted to all the original 1200's. Whereas the "nissan" ones were fitted to all the b210's, B310's and all the c20 vannettes and later (post '73) utes.
