thanx for the info rally1200, thats a great pic. so coils are the way to go.
any detailed pics of 1200's with 4 links out there?? i couldnt find much in the wiki be good to see some of this in there coz i know of few ppl wanting to do it. its nice to get a general setup idea to work from. (my god this has been a massive thread steal. appologies)

im not following you. is there any piccy's of the 2 link setup, or is it just theory??
im very seriously considering a 4 link at this stage, i want something that i know will fix my problem, and not be a magnet for law enforcers (caltracks sit so damn low) cant find much detail about 4 links in 1200's, all help appreciated

Are you talking about having two upper links that mount from the frame to the diff and sort of converging so that it looks similar to a "V" if you could see it from the top? If so I would worry about the differing arcs of the leaf spring vs. the upper control arms you plan to add. Just mock it up and run it through the travel a few times to assure that there is no binding that will stop the suspension. Since you are using this on the leaf rear susp it should have enough deflection to keep it from being a huge issue. Are you adding a rear sway bar as well? This type of a set-up has some benefits, as it keeps the rear centered in the chassis and is "hella stout" (isn't that what you guys down under say) if done right.

the 2 link im talking about isnt ontop of the spring, more ontop of the diff
would be just as good as caltrack if not better as it has better leverage on the diff...in a manner of speaking as its further away from the point that the diff is wanter to pivot when tramping is has a better chance of controlling it i would think main thing is thats its not hanging down real low like caltrac setup does

Here is a pic I just uploaded from the comp suspension manual, the link arms are on the bottom though.

keep all leaves and stuff, and then have sorta like the top 2 arms of a 4 link setup to control axle tramp
havnt spent that much time under a coupe so dont know how it will work
