A worn engine can sometimes make excellent power.

For example, the compression rings can be OK, while the oil control rings are bad.

Other causes of smoking... leaking head gasket (rare)...missing valve seals...worn valve guides ...

I would count on having to put new rings into it.

I am looking at picking up a 74 B210 with an A13 but it smokes. I was shown a compression check of an avg of 155. I allways thought if it is the valve seals causing the smoke it would clear up after a few moments at a higher rev. I will most likely do my own compression check. Any thoughts on this smokin issue?
