You cant get away with anything on this forum can you! What i was TRYING to get accross is that as long as you have all the lights and a reflector, you can pretty much fit anything you want.

1200s arnt cab-chassis reuben
I know there is some rule about being able to see the lights from a certain angle too. Thats why you need(should) have a repeater tail/stop and flasher when you put a spare wheel carrier on a 4WD.

It can be done, hot rod people do it all the time.
You still need reverse, brake, tail and turn though and the led lights you choose must be Adr approved, so use Narva or Hella. Some Ebay ones are not Adr approved. They will then need to be fitted to your vehicle in a way that satisfies the Adr applicable to rear lights on your vehicle. Check the National Standards documents online at Transport to find out what you need to comply with. Because you are modifying your vehicle you will have to comply with current Adr rules :(

i'd want it to be about 3x as tall...
i'd be worried it's too subtle for the average inattentive driver...

I asked a road worthy place this exact question a few days ago and I was told "sounds fine to me, as long as it has all the correct lights and a reflector, have to ask an engineer though"
A promising but annoyingly non-commited answer.

Considering if you own a cab chassiss ute, youu can hang what ever you want off the tray, I would say that they would be fine as long as you have all the lights required (indicator, brake, tail, reverse) and you fit a resistor to make the relay work correctly.
But then again, I havent read the road traffic act lately.....
