go the sleeper granny mate.
I have a "pimped" 1000 4 dr and although it's done sort of tastefully, (i did it up when i was 16) I now wish it was less "f**k off and look at me" and more "f*#k off and look at me GO!!!"

granny spec is the best option. I think that you gain so much more respect from fellow petrol heads for a granny spec build up than you do for a flashy customised car.
You can still use wild mechanicals but keep the exterior look granny spec. Thats the path that I am taking. Go granny spec

I agree. Granny spec all the way.
My 1200 is a standard GX that I just put 13" mags on and respray and nice and tidy cleanup. I also get constant comments of how good it looks and people that wanna buy it. If I were you I would also clean it up to look as good as new.Put some old school 13" mags on and put a complete 1200GX motor in that has some work done to it. Talk to Dodgeman on this forum. He had a very nice 1000 that had such a package. He can give you advice to make the 1200GX a 1300GX.

Okay then the general feedback asks for a granny spec.
The engine will be replaced with an A14 and the diff will be upgraded. I'll keep the 12 inchers and get some hubcaps. They'll spin like all buggary when the pedal goes down but I do want to get her up and going when a big common-rail 4wd comes up beside me to have a sniff. I'm taking off to the mines in a couple of days, me missus got the flick out of PNG for a few days (visa denied) so I'm takin' off to get some cash together. I will then bring another 1000 here......one that I can afford to cruise around in on a daily basis. Hey Andy, yeah thats the beloved volcano (there are seven within the close vicinity), a pic taken from our yard (by dad) of this one when she decided she was'nt happy with us in 2006. The shrewd power of mother nature will make you pack pebbles when this puppy gets up and going. There's lightning in the plumes when they get this big due to the static electricity but the photography is'nt that good. EDIT: Revhead, mate the fuzz here are shocking, I rode around the 1000 when it first got here without rego and without a bonnet and I went past the station about ten times. All I got from the fuzz were serveral drunken 'woohoo's!' and a few thumbs up. The whole town was whistling and cheering on the little 1000, you would'nt believe how many people like old cars over here. I suppose it reminds them of the good old days when PNG was a first world nation (in terms of living standards). ![]()

I have kept my 1000 4 door almost stock except for 13" rims, weber 32/36 and bigger exhaust. (5 speed soon to be fitted) Always get good comments at the lights or petrol station. If its nice to start with, don't change it too much.

Dont touch it, drive it for a while ,you will realise what a great thing the B10 is in standard form, quiet, economical, and reliable, there wont be a better car in all of PNG than that B10.
If, and when you do bastardise it keep the old parts as you WILL want to put them back in time. BTW did you take that pic on your avatar , its pretty cool.

just mod with diff, eninge etc but skip butchering body or interior. at least can put it back to stock if needed.
