some good info for everyone,im not trying to be a smart arse but i know soldering (aviation elecy) but when you have trouble with solder when soldering old or even some new wire .to get clean filets of solder you must use extra flux not just the flux within the solder but extra liquid flux or even paste. if a wire is stubborn to solder you first should clean the wire using isoprophyl (alcohol) and then use lots of flux. but it may come down to it being a stainless wire, i wouldnt think a coil pack would be using it tho.

I think the "hard to solder bit" would be stainless wires. The 02 sensor uses stainless wires, and they can only be crimped.
The coils wiring loom is just normal wires. I rewired all of mine using various connectors from a U12 pintaras and R31 skylines. No boost is more likely a vaccuum or boost leak.

Thats what I was thinking... some wires can be really hard to solder to, make sure that you use a good soldering iron, #### ones just dont do the job...

sounds like it might be a terrible solder job causing a high resistance in the wire try re soldering using some good quality flux.

hey guys, here goes, ill explain what happened first,
i just put a new head gasket in my ca18det, and when i was putting in my ca18det into my ute i forgot to lift up the coil pack loom so when the engine went in the cord got crushed behind the engine, so then i had to cut the loom to pull the other half out the bottom. i got my mate to soilder each wire back together but he said it was steel wire or sumthing and u cant solider it but he gave it a try and it held together, but the main question is that, i cant boost more then 6 - 7psi, could the coil pack loom have anything to do with it? yes i have checkd for leaking pipes, vaccum and all that, its running a t28bb, so far i have tried winding out the boost controller and also running open boost but still nuthing, You can view topic.
