by L18_B110by L18_B110 Apparently my memory is way off, Johns engine is 1608cc not 1700cc and Jeff has never heard of a 1900cc Mazda cranked A series, and doubts it would be possible.

You mite be able to get a larger than the excepted max bore, if you offset bored the block, and sleeved the block. But I doubt that you'd get 2000cc. Why would you bother though? I've heard young dickheads at work talk about their mates who have XXX motor bored out to XXXcc's, when I know full well that they are talking out their backside.

Now Now Revhead Keep an open mind it helps deal with the D#@*Heads And Wanna Be's out there. Why dont we all just agree that its a pile of crap and leave it at That. Now Lets start a new topic that we can say something constructive about. Like when are some of us Northern NSW guys going to get together and have a counter lunch and do a bit of a cruise. I'm lookin at about 3 months to have my Dat ready for that type of thing. Anyone else from Newcastle and Northern regions e.g Coffs. Armidale, Tamworth, Wanna get together ?

are you sure about that? doesn't make much sense to me. Its a IPRA race car and the capacity classes are 0-1600cc, 1601-2000cc... you are allowed 2% tolerance on the max capacity, so you can run in 0-1600cc with a 1632cc engine. It makes absolutely no sense as a racer to exceed that by 60cc and then have to compete against much larger displacement cars with capacities up to 2040cc. it would be two thirds of stuff all different in output to the a slightly smaller engine which would then be at the upper limits of the 0-1600cc capacity limits and be much more competitive. I think the old chinese whispers are coming into play.

Ah yes. The old possibility trick eh'.
So if thats the case there's a possibility that Angelina Jolie will shag me in a threesome with Toni Pearin... I don't think so. Not in a ute for $4500... Maths should sum this up. Man + A14 + telling everyone that it is bored out to a 2 litre = total wanker with no clue.

Benny's right on the money. A 90mm bore in the 77mm stroke A14 block will yeild just over 1959cc. There is no mention of a stroke job, nor is it an A15, but it sure looks like an A series to me. The center to center bore spacing is a lot less than 90mm, it's much closer to 81 or 82mm, so it's a physical imposibility for an A14 to be "board'[Sic] out to anywhere near 90 or 91mm. The entire cylinder would be removed & the pistons would overlap. Nobody seems to have successfully & reliably pushed an A15 past about 1608cc & that's with the 5mm longer stroke of 82mm. It all sounds a bit sus to me.

I know for sure you can bore out a L14 to 1975cc ..... just never seen a a14 out more than 1600ish
the car is advertised as a A14 , but claimed to be 2litre yet it has a A12 engine number You can view topic.
