Re: how much more lag is there with a T25G?

Okay so as it happens i have both turbos. 500rpm doesn't seem so bad i'll try the T25G and see how it goes. I have the basic engine improvements.
Hope the fuel economy isn't too effected. Just thinking how much luckier we are to have 1200's compared to larger cars now fuel is so much! cheers justin

about 500 rpm later, not much difference down low, but as you see, flow alot more up top and can hold more boost.

Here's a dyno curve from a CA18det in Sweden

Yeah they still do come on with quite a rush. If you had both turbos and were deliberating over which one to put on you have to go with the t25g. I'm expecting mine to make 160kw+ once I get the tune right and run a bit more boost. It made that much power on just 10psi.

Thanks guys. Wow that's quite nice power from your CA18 dave. So the T25G can make more top end power, but with less of a kick when you put your foot down.

There is definitely a difference. Unfortunately I don't have a before and after dyno sheet for ya. The T25g is not what you'd describe as laggy on the CA, it's just not as responsive as the T25. Here is my dyno run with a T25g. You can see how it's quite a convex shape power curve rather than the concave shape you get with larger laggy turbos.

Sorry I think i meant to say, when will it spool up, ie i don't want it to spool up at 4000 rpm, that would be useless and hard on the engine.

just wondering how much more laggy a CA18det would be with a T25G? would the larger A/R .80 ratio compared to the T25's A/R .48 make much of a difference?
I want it to be drivable in traffic etc. Any other differences in the turbine wheels? I plan to use about 10 psi. You can view topic.
