I have occasionally wondered what the second hand market value of these might be. They probably cost a bomb if you were to buy one new, but all of the ones I have seen in wreckers were unused, so it would seem that with better roads these days & much better tyres, people hardly ever get a flat.

I know I haven't had one in over 10 years, so with quantities of unused spacesaver spares building up in wrecking yards, I presume that the price should be very affordable. These have pretty serious performance limitations & require that a can of inflation gas be carried, so are pretty much a get-you-to-a-tyre-repairer kind of deal but should be a good thing in a cramped rear compartment that would not otherwise take a bigger diameter wheel & tyre.
