yeah 45's are to big the smallest practical choke size for 45's is 34mm. 34mm at 1 choke per cylinder will be good for about 400cc per cylinder.
you only have 372cc per cylinder i wood suggest 31mm chokes or 32's as the max so 1's thing to do is to sell the the 45's and by 2 x 40's dellortos and get 31mm chokes wen it comes to chokes for street car 1 size to small is better than 1 size to big. BUT needle valve ' float level ' main jet 'emulsion tubes ' air corrector jet ' accelerator pump jet ' idle jet & venturis must all be the right size. then you will love these cabs do all of this in is worth it. in my opinon without a cam the cabs will not make a lot of difference something like a wade 240 grind is good for street and springs must go now.

45s are for a flat-out race engine. It is supposed to run rich. I suppose you can lean them out. Maybe someone here has done this before and can advise further.

Hey fellas, just got a quick question about my setup.
I have recently removed the old A12 engine from my 1200 ute, and replaced with an A15 engine. The head is an oval port (GX i was told). Twin side draught Dellorto DHLA 45's. 4 into 2 into 1 Extractors. Only mod done is I have ported the head to suit the manifold as they were a larger oval, gave the head a light grind to blend the flow instead of a steep lip. The problem is that it is running extremely rich. The carbies, head and extractors come off another engine that i do not know the details of. possibly hi comp, cam etc. Does anybody know the size of the jets i need, and where i can get them? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers You can view topic.
