Id try re bleeding the whole system again.
Un less you can see signs of brake fluid around the master cylinder or on the inside fire wall.

your getting ripped at $170 for a new master, dont think i pated much over $100 for either of the 2 new master ive bought for my car

when u bleed the whole system, u go from far corner then work ya way up the driver side front..
also bleed master clyinder first.. then i bet everythin wil be prefect

Im pretty sure my master cylinder is shagged,
just put new pads and cylinders and pipe to front drum brakes, have adjusted and bled the fronts but still nearly no pedal. I doubt its because i didnt bleed the back as well. I can get a new complete master cylinder for 170$ is it worth trying to source a reconditioning kit, what is one worth? If its around 100$ its not worth it for the trouble for the difference.
