if your using the round ports temporarily, does it matter if you use an oval port inlet manifold? it'll produce some eddies in the flow but should be alright yeah? and can just squeeze the water hose shut yeah? no? maybe?

A mate of mine swears by this conversion,(A12 head on a A14 block) it raises the compression ratio but at the same time you get excellent economy because of the smaller ports and valves. Tey should be a straight bolt on but before you install just check the head against the block you are installing the actual head to and make sure the the holes all the holes line up, pretty simple really.

The round port heads on 1200's & A12's use 35 & 29mm valve sizes. The A14 uses 37 & 30mm valves.
You can port out an early head all you like & you still won't match the A14 head for port size right through to the valve. Simply put, the factory matched each head well to the engine & its intended use. If you use a small port head on the larger engines that came with an oval port head you will limit the upper end of the performance range. By all means use a small port head to keep you mobile untill you can find a suitable replacement A14 head, or untill you can fix your old head, but I would never regard it as a permanant replacement unless the engine was intended as an industrial powerplant, or the vehicle was used in serious economy events.

If it is an oval port head? it will hav larger valves.
you should put witchever is the best ov yor a12 head's on (may need a round port manifold?) otherwise will bol straight on and get the oval hear recod?

no real point. The a14 head (if oval port) will flow more than the a12 head. Stick with the oval port. If you want more comp then skim the head or get some flat top pistons etc

head will bolt on,small camber,small ports,small valves
will give good torque but wont make hp up top high comp ratio?????? You can view topic.
