spring steel doesnt really like to be welded

better off just wiring them in place, that way its also easy to get them out if need be

yer the cars weight should keep them in, i was just worrying about if they pop out or something, but should be alright if i just throw a weld on top and bottom i think

i used thick cable ties on the rear spring of my old dunnydore, it was only ment to be for a week, but they lasted 6months (untill i sold it) i even had it airborn a few times running like this!!

if you have only cut two full coils, it should still hold the springs captive... but only just!!

hey cheers for all ya help......i tryed all the wreakers close to me but they all only deal in the new s hit, no stanzas 120ys nothing, planing a trip to adelaide soon so ill get some then, ya recon it would be alright to use the stock 1200 ones??

also when lowering the struts i cut the springs, how do i bring them so they hold the spring in? a mate said just weld the springs at the top and bottem so it would keep them in, i thought about it and it seems unsafe to me, wat have all you people done??

i would recomend using the satnza/sunny ball joints. I recently changed to late model ute ones and all my almost -3 deg camber has wound up at almost 0 camber.... so with adjustable camber tops i still have almost 0 neg camber.

Sure it brings the track back in but no neg camber almost. Im planning on changing back to stanza ones when funds/time permit.

Use stanza/sunny/late120y/late ute lower control arms, stanza or sunny balljoints outer rod ends and steering arms, you might need sheer load spacer for between strut and steering arm from datsport not expensive, if you have too much front end track, try late model 120y or late model 1200 ute balljoints they will bring it back in again. Get some late model 120y or late model 1200 ute castor rods as well.

Check the wiki as well. Goodluck

hey fellas
so here we go again, i started the bluebird strut conversion and have ran into some problems, wat ive done so far is cut down the bluey struts so there the same height as the orignal 1s then i put the 1200 strut top on the top of the bluebird stuts and bolted them in, it looks like that the 1200 lower control arm will adapt up if i just file out a small bit in the hole, so i did that and then put a wheel on, and its got positve camber, is there a lower control arm that will adapt up? or is using the 1200 LCA ok,? not to sure if its safe or not.

can some 1 plz help me out?

cheers
