Buy a 1200 there!?

just the usuall smelly madang. altho its a beautiful place in the world but it gets boring after 3 weeks.

Yeah Jake they were imported here along with the Datsun 1000 ute, The 120y, 240, 260, 1600 and long wheels base 1200.

The bakkies are hard to buy. They love the 5 speed and extra power.

As with everything here they were left and or dumped.

Sorry I couldn;t come to Madang, I got sent to Lihir Mine so I didn;t have an option.

How was the trip?

well ive just returned from png and saw more 1200s than ive seen in my life, but what took me was i saw a bakkie, were these ever sold there or was it a specialty import.

the thing that ticked me off the most is they are all in terrible condition like most of the other vehicles in png.

the funiest thing i saw tho was a home made lift kit which consisted of cutting the rear leaf attachment point and welding a spacer peice of 5 inch plate metal on to in to give it a few inchs higher. unfortunately i missed out on taking a photo of it.
