You can't have ANY splits in the hoses.
The sedan tank definitely has baffles in it. But they only slow down the fuel slosh. So during a sustained left hand turn, you'll get fuel up the top of the filler pipe. Also check that the fuel tank breather pipes are ok: 1. don't have holes 2. or kinks to stop pressure build up 3. make sure the outlet for the breather goes down the small hole into the rear chassis rail. Cheers, Chris

Nope, it doesn't have anti-slosh baffles. The crack in the hose is a problem, even a pinpoint leak will cause a smell. remember on a sedan, the hose IS in the passenger compartment, only the seat fabric is blocking the fumes. When you turn a corner, yes the fuel will go up into the filler hose. Been there, done that.
Also be sure your tank breather line is fitted correctly and not blocked. I had one 1200 that spit fuel out onto the side of the car. Also see Fume Control

Maybe the breather at the filler neck has come out of its gromet in the bodywork and is now in the cabin? Just check all over the fuel tank and lines, sounds like there is a leak somewhere.

Hi guys, I have a two month old baby & this is worrying me now. Wen I have over 15ltrs in the tank, theres a strong smell of fuel in the cabin - especially when I turn a corner! Is there supposed to be an anti slosh thing in the tank?
A while back, I noticed the filler neck hose is cracked near the top (where the clamp holds the hose onto the filler hole on the body. What else could be the problem though? You can view topic.
