yea i ran my HG on thinners for a while. dont go buyin any fancy additive for lube, just add 60-100mls of sunflower oil per tank. but if your gonna do it put the gunwash through a thinners recycling machine first cos the paint thats mixed with it will eventually clog your lines, pump and carby. you can pick up a recycler for bout 1500-2 grand.

i used to work for a company that did ruberlining and they used tolulene on a daily basis, i tried in in my ute once or twice and didn't improve performance all that much it however seemed to burn alot cleaner when mixed with the fuel, but that was with pure tolulene. I put about a coke bottle worth to a full tank( 600ml:25 litres)

The stuff that they wash the guns out with is garbage, cheap and nasty! it would eat all the fuel lines and seals in no time at all.

sounds like alot of work if your going to have to add more stuff...which will cost more money
so lots of effort for #### all savings really

and A12s hardly use fuel anyway

Hi Tommy
Just Googled Gunwash. It is approx 60% Toluene and the rest Xylene. The only issue in reading is it can perish rubber, so the fuel lines will need to be replaced with something that has resistance to this. Reading on Wiki it said that Toluene was used by Honda F1
but it states that it has no lubrication and so will cause upper cylinder wear...... Maybe add a Wynn's product in there too?

If they could use it run engines on they wouldnt be paying to have it recycled. It will most likely destroy the diaphrams in your fuel pump, fuel lines, valve seats nd god knows wat else. I cant tell to much about octane or fuel to air mix but I dnt think it will burn the same as petrol. Ive been to a factory near my way that recycles that stuff nd all they can turn into is more low grade sht thinners and the by-product of the process cant even be used as land fill for something like 25 years. This stuff is just crap. How much can an A12 possibly cost run? I think keep away but put through your lawn mower, should be good for a laugh.
