I see - I was thinking of changing the firewall end - maybe I can just get a 1200 cable and change the other end then....I'll take a pic of what I got tomorrow night (if I'm home)

which end are you wanting to change?
putting an adjustable end on the stock cable is pretty easy as its just a matter of cutting the cable down and then the adjustable end slides on and you solder a new bar doover on the end swapping the firewall end is a bit harder, just coz you have to find a new end as they are pressed onto the stock cable so arent reusable

So how hard is it to change the end of a cable?
and does someone have a pic of a 1200 throttle cable end handy? I'm happy to swap a throttle cable for a clutch cable. [a 1200 one that is]

that looks like what ive done on the fatsun but mine is a 310 cable. i put a 310 pedal onto the 1200 arm that bolts to the firewall with a spacer cos the 310 pedal was smaller at the pivot point. then i removed the threaded bit the old cable screwed onto on the firewall, drilled 2 holes and was done, new style acc pedal! this saved me from cutting a hole for the std 1200 pedal when i fitted the new carpet from a vt commodore.(i didnt think it would fit as good as it does but cut the carpet in 1/4s and trim edges to fit and it pretty much drops straight in!) anyway now i'll probly have to change my pedal assy again when the L20s in.

Cool - I'll see how I go with this cable first - but I appreiciate the offer.
I just went through all pigdog's photos too and found nothing, then saw your post Nick...lol. I'm even slower at building it now...I've got a baby in the house and a job with lots of travel - but it is pretty close to completion (I know I keep saying that).

Man it sucks I'm the only one in my family into cars, or any sort of fabrication work.
I don't even have a spare 1200 throttle cable to try it out with! - but I'll keep it mind if I get desperate - might even have to talk to you and your Dad about an arrangement.... This cable I've got looks OK as well - it's just getting the in cabin side sorted. Look forward to hearing others experiences.
