When the government can find me another car that gets,
$4 per 100kms (lpg), zero depreciation, turn on a dime, Take nearly a tonne in the back and $240 comprehensive insurance like my datto, then maybe i`ll have a look.

Anyone can get $3000 off a new car just by haggling. And you'd get to keep your datto.

Looks like demtel have made it into government. Trying to trick people into thinking they are getting something for nothing...

Yeah these dirty pollies rat on about how much pollution our old babies are making. They seem to shut up when asked how much pollution is produced when making a new car. Plus how many 1-2 year old cars get around with rotten-egg smell produced by spent catalyitc converters.
I've never smelt that from an older car [pre-cat]. I'm sure my 1200 ute [A14 on straight gas] would spit out fewer hydrocarbons than some of the newer cars.

But as previously stated, not $3000.00 cash but a voucher for 3 grand on the purchase of a new car.......and another loan and more debt, just what we need at the moment!
I,m sure some of these boffins have had part or all of thier grey matter surgically removed.

So under this proposed System, and old Sunny with a 5-speed would be worth a minimum of $3000?

unlikely to happen here.... in europe they do a lot more than us than that

we would see increased rego for larger cars and things like that introduced before this sort of thing (but we wont see that hear cause that would be the kiss of death for bommodores and falcoons and hence automotive indusry aus)
