Kev Rowley in Brisbane seems to be the local expert, some of the Qld members are sure to have his phone number. There's also a few 1200's drag racing in Brisbane, particularly a sedan. As for all the little parts, do a search on EBay for Datsun 1200, there's a store in Queensland that has allsorts of bits & pieces, rubbers & such, I bought a Sunny rear window rubber from them recently.(looked itup in EBay, it's Phil's Rotarys & Fast Fours)

im in brisbane b310gx , i just bought it yesterday for $150 + $50 for tow truck so im pretty happy , has a few parts missing like side vents & datsun badges but most of chrome trims seem to be there ,were is the best place to get these parts & other bits, ive also been looking at maddat sr20det fitting kits are they the way to go ? im just thinking of using it for drags & the powercruise or a thrash on the dyno at this stage

$150 anywhere in the world for a 1200 coupe rolling shell is a bargain. the engine & gearbox are probably the easiest things to replace,usually with something bigger/stronger.
Could you please tell us where you are, because it helps to give you the right advice.

Sounds too good to let it go to waste, especially one with a auto tunnel.

i found a 1972 1200 coupe auto in a wrecking yard in pretty good condition body wise not much rust has the motor & gearbox out & all the glass and body parts are removed but there ,looked like someone was going to rebuild the car , ive been out of the datsun scene for a few years now but thinking of a new project & this came up so whats up with a 1200 coupe are they rare ? good to do up ? or should i save for a better one ? the wrecker wants $150 for it thanks for your help
