The 36 DCD has two stages each with it's own barrel. Gives pretty decent low down torque comparing to the standard carb. If you fit it, get it to a decent old school tuner that know carbs and not just EFI systems.
I cannot help a lot with the jettings. But I could well let you know what fuel(main, secondary), air(main, secondary), emulsion tubes(main, secondary) and pump jet I'm using on my A14 motor. If you decide to fit it and struggle.

ok cool... is the 36dcd progressive as well? i dont really want to increase my fuel consumption.
i found a couple of garages/spares suppliers in j'burg - they wanna charge me about R1850 (incl VAT) for a hitachi 306! is that the going price? how much would i be looking at for a weber then? Might i just find a used one here (from a ford or fiat "The recommendation was to use the 36/36 DCD, however these are quite rare in NZ and generally come off Fiat 1100’s which would be jetted completely wrong for a Volvo B20+." - from weber 36dcd discussion ) then get it roconn'd??? used carb will be about US60 & reconditioning will be about US100...

Hi Ethan,
I do not know of the Weber DGV 32/36 conversion in RSA. But a lot of people are running a 36DCD Weber on Datsun and Nissan vehicles in South Africa, the adapter plate from the A12-A14 intake manifold to 36DCD is avail. I bought my plate from Windsor Motors down in Cape Town. I'm sure someone could sort you something up in Joburg. Hope this helps somewhat.
