Hi Joe
I will get pics organised for you. Not sure if they will comply to CAMS specs ie 3/4 shots etc but will try. This engine was done by JTS when I built it. Jeff built all of my engines and even the engine for his brother John Taylors yellow PEDDERS car which I drove for them back in the CLUB CAR/IPRA days in the 90's. This engine was built from scratch and won the last open sports sedan race at Amaroo in 1997 in the little Datsun 1000. Some people know how to get HP from A series engines, and some people do not. We won everything there was in CLUB CARS/IPRA in the 1200 and doubt there will be a faster A series Datsun 1200 track car in the country compared to what we did.

datoman_1000 i will be happy to provide all information and dyno sheet for the buyer
revhead i have just left a message for someone regarding the fuel ..... my guess would be avgas but will confirm As for your budget we will be way away at $2500 ...... as for me to get another one built webbers and manifold ............$850 -1000 gx head ................. $500 headwork ............$1000 a15 block ............... $500 labour $$$$$$$$$ new pistons rings etc etc $$$$$$$$$$$$$ cam headers etc etc you hopefully understand where i am coming from Just to let all interested know ........ this engine is a race motor so you cannot compare to your road car motor as the engine would not run the same mufflers and would not be as restricted cheers joe

What sort of fuel was it dynoed on or is the engine designed to run on and what is the compression roughly at?
I want to get a ready built engine and gearbox from a running car that is in good condition and will spend around the $2K mark or mabey an extra $500 for the right set up.

I'd really like to see the specs and see how it makes 30 more than mine
Racers will want to know the ins and outs before they spend the coin And proof of dyno hmmm.. spare engine.......

when you build a motor it doesnt take long to see the cost build up as i've just started my supercharged a15...
motor $500 major rebuild kit with pistons $500 bore and hone and block clean $180 and all thats got me is a clean freshly machined block with pistons for $1200 still to get done... head $500+ cam $150-$200 distributor $150 new oil and water pumps $? clutch $300 timing chain $? (already got one) alot of the rest of the machining i'll do myself so im unsure about those cost but there is alot of dollars that go into even a mild build

This sounds like it is my old engine that I originally built for my 1000 sports sedan that has been sold on to quite a few people.
Do you know if it is Joseph ![]()
