Hi; I'm Shane from Hydroprint NZ Ltd. What you are looking at is Water Transfer Printing. This is a specialised process whereby we can print any three dimensional objects made of steel, plastic, wood or glass with a range of patterns and designs including carbon fibre. We use Premium automotive 2 Pack clear coats in satin, semi-gloss or full gloss. These clear coats once cured should be fine with anti-freeze and cleaners etc.
Our website is undergoing an upgrade but should be back up and running in a couple of weeks (www.hydroprint.co.nz) and will show a full range of patterns and examples for you to see. We will have photos of a printed carbon A12 rocker cover for you to see on this site next week. My background is in the automotive refinishing industry and for the last ten years I have been working in a world renowned restoration business so all our work is to a very high standard and all your parts will be treated with the utmost care. Email us at hydroprint@xtra.co.nz or call Shane on 021689599.
PS. We have a nice 120Y SSS tucked away that we will get photos up of soon
Cheers Shane & Sarah Faulkner @ Hydroprint NZ Ltd

it looks great that`s a fact. Now if it is carbon or steel, my opinion is that is some kind of thermo-moldable film with some clear coat. I guess if someone were making a carbon cover, they would make it with some other design, why copy the factory A-Series?

You know the Chinese are doing amazing things with carbon. My brother in law was showing me a supplier of his and mentioned that they can make all sorts of stuff for you.

Still looks like a steel rocker cover, covered in carbon matting. This looks like the same process I was intending to use to cover some of my dash parts.. It does look fantastic though.

It is a process where it is a water overlay that is vacum or pressure treated onto the object, the supra guys around here do it alot. But it is not very resistant to cleaners (such as brake clean or antifreze).
