I thought that A14'a and A15's had a bigger bore than the A10/A12

the stroke is definitely longer...

A10 pistons in an A14?....Bore???

Or do you mean A10 pistons on A14 crank?

i guess a test of 1 isn't gospel so we'd need to look at more.. Dodgeman could have some answers..

so using KB10 flat tops in an a14 with a12 head not such a good idea then?

I'd say A10's in general,
they have an old style piston with and expansion gap and one piece oil rings,
two of these ones had a crack under the oil rings on the opposite side to the expansion gap.. it was a stock motor in reasonably good condition..

When you say old school A10 pistons, do you mean the earlier ones were different? or just old A10 pistons in general.

I replaced the gasket on my A10 a month or so ago and it is still the original- shim style gasket with material over-lay.....as far as I'm concerned those only came out at factory?

It's a spin out if it was the orgiginal gasket. 40+ plus years without a gasket change, is that a good thing or a bad thing!

That really is brilliant. There is nothing like the satisfaction of getting stuck into a project like that.

Cheers
