My missus would know, they are "going to seed" apparenty, she pulls them out at this stage because they don't produce good leaves anymore.

tape a laser pointer to the nailgun and aim for the tiny ones then. We got those up here and they do exactly what Baz says they do. They're still annoying.

most likely a Toxorhynchites, also refered to as a mosquito hawk or mosquito eater, and no they don't suck blood. and commonly refered to as the alaskan state bird.

We have these buggers here on the mountain, and have no idea what they are? I have never heard anyone complain that they have been bitten by them..... unlike their little cousins and they dont try to land on you they just fly around the lights. cheers Bazz
