Red is probably battery +, black is earth, and the burned wire was coil -.

Hi Guys
I have after market tachometer, it was not working so i removed the back cover of it , i have got wires mainly one is RED other one is Black, and also i see burned wire from inside the tachometer, so i realized that is that the reason it does not work ? what would be that wire to where it is connected ? , i tried to connect Red to the Iginition negative and black to ground earth then that worked but when i start the car it goes to the 6000 rpm and stay and when i increase gas it is increasing, but i don't think so that is the correct way it is connected what do u think guys, i want to make my older tacho to work or just throw it away and buy one , if it works in wain i am buying a new one thanks regards sumith 3 You can view topic.
