no no no Rubin, not saying Carbs are better at all, I just like them, one being a spanner twirler must also appreciate the hokery pokery of majik sparks controled fuel...

Now theres something I can vouch for. Throttle response......AWESOME!!!!! cant beat quad throttlebodies and fully electronic ignition!!!!

Factory EFI is smooth ... more important to me than the absolute HP level. Perfect throttle response and good power.

I dont think that it is the HP improvment over carbs that injection gets its big win. That comes from tunability and realibility. Yes you have to learn how to tune efi properly, but you have to learn about carbs too at some stage. Each is complicatied to understand properly and requries effort to learn.

But in order to realibly prove an HP improvemnt would require having a complety tuned carb engine measured then converted to efi and measure again without any other changes. Thats nealry impossible to do. Hec, just changing the manifold to suit means the results are skewed. Anyone test on any one engine does not make it a rule, mearly a single example of that engine. I could go on about the scientific method, but i think you get the point.

Also dundee, using the premise of "You cant PROVE that efi is better therefore carbs must be" isnt really anything at all. You cant fool me with false logic...

I have to agree that initial tune is critical,
but after that it's basic maintenance.. no different to syncing throttle bodies and setting base idle etc..
I'd be happy to see a HP improvement Over carbs with EFI, if you can prove it???

EFI is magic when programmed properly, but I'm gonna run twin 40mm sidies on mine. Aaah the tuning is painfull but the sound is awesome!

Did a Wolf 3D turbo EFI setup on a subi, not too hard, the manual was very easy to understand.

I reckon your carbys boys are too scared to go the whole hog!

admititadly, i plan to use a single throttle body, but turbo and injection isnt too hard as long as you use a computer that can manage both. at least thats my understanding. the tuning bit is gonna be left to the pros when I get there...

I do gotta say that EFI + Turbo = HEADACHE. EFI + Quad Throttles + Turbo = Loony bin.
Carbs + Turbs = Easier.

Get my drift. Not to mention setting up a Timing table for electronic ign. I would hate to set one up and detonate it!

Im gunna stay with NA for my injection setup. Quad throttles are hard enough to setup to begin with!!
