Alternator Wiring

F = Field
N = lamp signal

With an SL type, S corresponds to F, and L to N.
In other words, the connector for Hitachi SL with t-connector is exactly the same.

I don't think you can damage the alternator by getting the SL or FN wiring mixed up (it may blow a fuse, or just not work). However if you connect the battery backwards, some alternator will be damaged.

This alternator i bought from Ebay, the seller told me that was for a nissan bluebird.
I made the jumper wire trick, now i only need to know how in the old wiring T connector correspond each F to S , F to L or N to S, N to L...
Looks like math!!!!ehehe

I don`t know yet about the audio system, but it wont be nothing special.
What do you think about option 1 DD?

An "SL" alternator is internally regulated. Be sure to disconnect the Datsun 1200 regulator when fitting an SL type.

No need for a stronger battery, in fact I say use a smaller lighter battery. We are using lawn-tractor batteries and very small car batteries. The 1994 Datsun 1200 pickup uses tiny Japan battery type 38B19L. http://datsun1200.com/modules/mediawiki/index.php?title=Battery

You may with to use larger batter if you want to leave headlights on with engine off. Or if you have a high-powered radio that you play with engine off.

I will try option 1, after thinking a little and searching in wiki i think that`s it. What battery should i use? Now that i got a 60amps alternator maybe`s better to use a stronger battery isn`t it?

The alternator is a Lucas from a nissan bluebird, i`m a little afraid to connect it because if i screw up i can blow the Diodes...

Ok so the F stands for Field and the N for neutral.. the s and l or your alternator could possibly stand for signal and load... check with a multimeter the voltage on the white/black wire.. that is you regulator to + bat terminal wire.. the yellow is the wire that goes to the gauge. so in saying that i would connect via option 1.. hope that helps
