Consider that a factory auto-choke on the A12 enriches the mixture up to 8:1 - 9:1.
So it's not easy to over-enrich. For fully warm max-power as rich as 12:1 is common (with a carburetor). So cold-enrichment can be more than this. With EFI you can obvious tune it closer than this (e.g. Rezlo's advice), looking for the economy/power/emissions tradeoff of your choice.

Once you have the hot idle mapped 100% fine then go into cold start, not sure how it is on the MS, but this is a general guide:
Prime: ms dependant on injector, easy to set though per c as you need no logging/wideband, start small (2ms) and go up till she fires straight away Post Start: usualy 10% additional fuel over base map from 20c to about 2% at 60c to zero Post Start decay: 5seconds @ 20c taper to 2sec at 60c Warm up: Most engines like around 20-25% fuel multiplication over base MS at 20c also obviously tapering, I like my warm up/coolant comp to be all out at 65c Best thing to do is hook up a good wideband and always start leaner than to rich for start up, to rich foul's the plugs and gives false readings, to lean and she just wont start, always move to the next temp cell after driving it for a short while to clear it, let it cool down just enough to put it in the center of the next temp range then start up. AFR's at start/post start usualy around 11.5-12, afr's during warmup after post start decay you can get into the mid 13's but when loading rather try put them into the high 12's till at least 55c coolant then you can start leaning it out to your usual 14.7 idle/cruise, 13.5ish light load and low 13 high 12 high load depending on compression. Hope this helps.

@Retal052
Sorry, can't help you with this problem but I am interested in the solution for my future mods. What needs to be changed in the settings? Can't you just make it a little richer than normal operating temp's settings?

EFI (a series) guys.......warmup enrichment question

Hey guys,
I have gone to EFI and am having trouble getting the enrichment settings for warmup. I just need some ballpark figures as to how much the little A-series needs to warmup. I have done a few mods to it so I know mine will be different to everyone elses. But I need somewhere close to start. At the moment I am using the factory warmup that comes on Megasquirt but it is very hit and miss. and as soon as it fires the temp changes. this makes for difficult tuning.
