how much power are you planning to make?
SR boxes can hold back 200kw SRs in a silvia thats got an extra 400-500kgs over a 1200 and CA boxes are just as strong as them pretty sure that theres no adaptor kit for RB25det box onto CAs...and your tunnel would need to be absolutely huge to fit one of them in the car anyway probably build the car and break a couple of gearboxes first before you go trying to find a super strong box you can get r31 skyline and pintara 5 speeds for a couple of hundred $$$ same with VL non turbo 5 speed boxes. they are just as strong as CA and SR boxes, and the shifter is a coupe of inches further forward

Go a CA box for a CA engine mate - if you stomp and crunch gears it will still not break until you do your 100th burn out! Plus the shifter is only 15cm further back than a R30 or something stumpy.

yer there's a bell houseing adapter for rb25box to sr20, i would think theres a kit for the dirty ca18 but if not you could make one .
stumpy box is fine but the weakest ca box stronger 300-400 bucks rb25 box unbreakable but 1500 for the box then the new bellhousing

yes i have heard that just depends on how hard you drive it....so RB boxes pretty well can be adapted to CA bells?

stumpy is weaker than sr / ca box so not shore why you would do that . go the rb25 box unbreakable with a ca18 in front :)
but maybe break a ca box first :) than upgrade has i think you'll find its pretty strong and in a datto there less load on the box due to less kg's

Hey boys and girls i am after some info about ca18det gearboxs. i know you can use a sr box by swaping the bellhousing but ive also heard that they are not super strong either, or are they? i really want a strong manual gearbox for my 1200 coupe but dont want to spend $6000 on a gear set? any proven combos would be great!
