As per mildman, the majority of the cost is labour, I cant see it being under 15-20 hours of solid work to require a complete 1200... might not be complex but its still one hell of a lot of wires

The high cost would be because it takes a very long time to redo all of the wiring in the car. If you did it yourself it would be cheaper, but wire (in many colours) and all the plugs required would probably still add up to a lot of money!
