Not necessarily. You could have a bad wire (too much resistance) to the gauge. For example, rusty or oxidized wire connection. It could also the the gauge regulator.

I waited the thermal transmitter to drop it ohm to around 116 ohm but the gauge shows at the C line.
Does it means my gauge are out???

The voltage is supposed to fluctuate, because of the gauge regulator.

The sender works off restistance. Measure the ohms of the sender.

Hi guys..
My temp gauge showing tat is always below C level...
When i measure the wire at the temp sensor,the voltage fluctuate...
Is it bad regulator in the meter??

OK, I earthed out my sender wire and the guage read max hot.
This method does nothing to tell you about the condition of the sender as its not connected at the time of testing.
I think you need a chart to tell you how many Ohms at a particular temperature etc.

I might earth mine and see what it does, I'm not anysort of expert on this topic, but I figure the guage unit should be positive (+), the more negative (earth) it receives the more heat produced to bend the Bimetal needle thingy and the hotter the reading on the guage.
I might be wrong so some more feedback from other users would be great!

It is confusing think dude, in another web link , i saw if we connect sender wire to the ground and guage reads max , they mentioned it is DEFETIVE sender unit ,that is what i wanted to confirm

That makes sense I think, if you connect the sender wire directly to an earth (-) the guage should read max temp (ie: less ohmn resistance)

Except this we discussed something that you told if the Ohm is 0 the engine is in the boiling state, something etc ? i dont know whether you or someone else exactly?
I checked my Thermal Transmitter in the engine with the multimeter when the engine is cold it is reading higher and when the engine is hot it is reading lesser figure in OHM , those values only i wanted to confirm
