We are talking about one-off brakcets to mount the supercharger, and stock manifolds.
Just put a hat on top of the carburetor. Nissan A Engine is 3 generations removed from Austin A Engine. Nothing of substance "fits", but the layout is very similar. Nissan shared the Austin patents, so it is very similar. For example, rocker covers have been made that fit both engines, although the bolt holes are in differnet places.

Nice! Are we talking custom one off manifolds and pulleys to supercharge the A-series? Or is there a kit like Moss has for the british stuff. (Or is it the same as the Brit kit?)

Yes, the J-series is almost same dimensions as C/E engine. And so is the A-series (the 3rd generation) but is also lighter and more powerful.
We dunno about the motor mounts. Several of us have run superchargers on the A-series. Ernie used a Mercedes 230K unit, while the Toyota MR2 unit is used by several others.

Does anyone know if the J-series and 60's e engines are the same footprint/dimensions? I think at least the E is almost the same as the C in my 59. Do they have the same motor mount spots on the block?
Do you guys ever run moss superchargers on the E or J? (Or even the A?) And finally do you know if the E or J are 3 bearing main or 5 bearing main?

Hey Fisch, seen your stuff over at Ratsun, but its great to see you here. Lovin the manga datto style!
Datsuns are so tough, I recently put an a14 in my 120Y that had been sitting at a local wreckers for an unknown eon. The guys there didn't even know they had it! It fired up so easily and went really hard untill the blown ring that must of put in there in the first place really let go! If I didn't have such a lead foot then it would still be going strong. You almost cannot kill these things. I really like the shape of the 59 you got, a real classic man, good luck with it!

i think the larger 1800 Mg engine is OHC and less reliable than the british A series, Nissan engines would be more reliable.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Man I have been cramming on the British connection for this car, and guess what. This is essentially the same engine that was put in the MG A and MGB for like 30 years!! There are tons of mods out there for it. Even supercharger options.
But I have a thought to not do anything too wild to the original engine, and think about getting a MGB 1800 engine to go wild with. Preserving the original engine? But man it would be sweet to hop up the original mill too... I am still on the fence. Is any of the MGB stuff identical to the Datsun A-series? (motor mount locations, manifolds, etc.) And guess what, I got it running for the first time tonight. Check her out! 1959 Datsun running!
