That person should have adapted a factory manifold for the downdraft weber. The exhaust manifold is the biggest issue for A15 forklifts now that I remember aim a useless way?

would forklift bearings have the same durability at double the rpm though?

The industrial engines are designed with low power for long service life. The power is reduced due to the cams, intake and exhaust. The Nissan part numbers are the same as automotive for bearings, oil pump, timing chain, etc, but half the price as a Nissan dealer.
