Yeah I only got rockers coz they were going at about half price. otherwhise I would hav done that

I think rollers cost too much for the benefit they deliver (unless its a race car).

If your going all out. other then ration I belive the advantage of rolers is ther is no side load on the valevs alowing the guide to be reduced in the port.. and reduces load on the motor increasing power(even if buy the minutest amount)

why the roller rockers? ive heard one of the best options is the standard rocker assembly but put solid spacers between the rockers in place of the springs, this stops them moving at high rpm.

Do you want to change your rocker's ratio?

anybody thought of any other rods? im going to ring arias and spool tommorrow and see if i get anything. i rang rocket industrys and asked the guy if they could get roller rockers for the a series. the bloke mucked around for a second and then said no he couldnt an a series is too old. i then rattled off the part number too him and proved him wrong. spose its just if people want to help you or not.....

Standard A-series pistons are not cut for valve reliefs. The only ones that were notched are the flat-top A12/A10 pistons. And of course competition pistons.

I can't see how the valves would hit the bore just due to the flywheel letting go. I suggest they were scraping the bore before that happened. Stock engines havea relief cut in the bore for that purpose. If you fit larger valves be careful of this.

just a quick question guys ive just stipped my donk and i just want to know are standard a series pistons fly cut to accept the valve lift?
lucky i did pull it down, 2 of the valves have hit the side of the bore when it threw the flywheel off, and one of the cam bearings is burnt so lucky i did.
im surprised just how well the little thing went for the amount of work done to it... looks like it wont take too much to get some proper power out of it.

plenty of aftermarket options Arias etc, cast or forged...
Hbeam rods or even ally ones are available,
Ernie (Bige) on here builds some killer combos

and I'm a Big fan of Ceramic coating and teflon skirts..
