yeah Levey the flames are fun, so is a back fire (or ten) that sends pedestrians diving for cover,

Yeah, the "flutter" is the sound of the compressor wheel slowing down (against a pressure caused by the closed throttle body plate) when u tap off. 1. It puts huge strain on your turbo shaft/compressor wheel & vanes 2. It sounds cool but stuffs your turbo up eventually. 3. There is a less than optimum response from your turbo now as it has too spool up again from low speed each time you tap off and re-accelerate
If you want instant boost response put an anti-lag system in the exhaust system ala most WRC cars (and have the cops on yer a$$ as a bonus). Another bonus is you get to replace yer exhaust system rather often ![]()

running no bov = nice sounding flutter , work better for performance has the boost from the last gear is there ready to go instantly ,,, if you want the flutter to go away get a air box ;)
running a bov = gay running a bov that is plub'd back is ok and remember your bov's should be has close to the intake has you can get it .

To add: I ran a turbo with blow thru setup into a dellorto downdraught, and I had endless kak cause I didn't have a BOV. Every time you tap off and put foot again, you had a "too rich situation" and a flat spot.

I run a HKS ssqv on my CA18det. I ran it to atmosphere for 10 minutes (I felt like a dick with the car making all those noises), before I got onto the lathe and turned up an alloy adapter to plumb it back. I copied the picture of the plumb back adapter from pictures on ebay.
AFM(MAFM) reside in front of the turbo and throttle body. They tell the ECU how much air is entering the engine, so fuel can be tuned to suit. MAP sensor accepts only a vaccuum signal and it not a critical part of the intake. MAP sensed engine can run atmo BOV. AFM/MAFM need to run plumb back BOV so all the air entering the engine is being measured properly. AFM equipped engines will backfire down exhaust due to over-fueling as air is lost via the blow off valve. The ECU measure the air, and setup fuel for it, but the air was wasted out of the BOV, resulting in an over rich mixture.

hey i dont get it explain to me what a plumb back is and what the difference is between a AFM amd map sensor ?
