i just need cheap and hope it doesnt blow too many holes in datsun body work (has high and low).

levey did his 2 door with his 90amp ozito so should be ok- not great but ok.

Basicly it come down to what your welding. if its car pannels you dont need like the big pulse-migs that i normaly use at work.
CIGweld is a good brand, and sip also.
I prefer gas for body work, its a bit more "forgiving" also. Like a small sip welder can be picked up from repco and there gas and gasless and for a few $100 with 12month warranty.
where abouts are you located?

total tools in bayswater do short welding welding course's and they can fit you up with a good welder to suit your style of welding.

i also would/need a welder and to tidy my skills up a bit... can weld a lil but no expert.

what would be the best welder to buy for working on cars and how much to pay for a 2nd hand one?

well ones just a bit of a wrinkle in the front apron which shouldnt be a problem, the others where it seems someone had a bit of a rage at not being able to close the bonnet, so a palm-sized pushed in nose, might be a bit hard getting at the back of it cos theres a fair bit of bracing behind it...

Welding isnt hard to learn. and its extremely handy! lol.
i prefer gas over gasless, for bodywork anyways.

grab yourself some scrap steel and sheet metal and blast away. learn how your wire speed/feed works etc etc. you'll have a blast!

ben.
