you would be best getting a maddat fitting kit, because you need to modify your engine mount on block and cross member also with other engine rubbers. and it also comes with a bigger sway bar that helps you out alot in the handling area.
i tried to fab and s13 crossmember but where it bends down to the part were the rubber mount bolt onto is right where you need to bolt it to the chassis. you will also need to make a hydraulic clutch set up with it being a manual you can get away with massaging the opening but because the s13 box is longer you need to open it up and extend it a little bit at the end and your shifter will be roughly 20cm back from standard shifter position. you could use a MR30 gear box out of a skyline or a 71c out of older skylines bluebird etc best of using the 71c because its alot cheaper and not that much different. ive got a maddat sr20 fitting kit forsale for a couple of hgs cheaper and you dont have to wait on sending yours to maddat and getting one back. that whole process can take two weeks. but is a good little project

i wouldnt go the maddat if you can make it your self ,all you need is a welder (mig) and some 5mm plate
i used a standard ute cross member and i cut the mounts of ,then i used my jig to set the mounts up and then weld it up ,i think i have some pics of the mounts the jig and the S13 X member wont fit and niether will the 4x4 X member

i didnt know the rad support had to be cut :( i knw the tunnel had to be cut. (its man) and im unsure if i have the xmember because its mounted in a 4x4 and :S is it better off buying one from maddat pre done or getting one from a s13 at the wreckers and fabbing it to fit

has this thing got an auto or manuel tunnel as the auto has heaps more room and if its an SR it will be a tight fit and you will need to cut the radiator support out to get it in
have you got the SR crossmember to mount it ?

hey everyone
i bought a 1200 coupe about a month ago and was told it needed a rebuild anyway long story short i whacked 12 months rego on it and some globes . a week ago i lost all power to the 3rd cylinder so its a slug and blows more smoke then you can imagine but . i have a project 1200 ute that had a sr20de donor car ready to be swapped over into it. but my old man tore his arm ligiment off and cant touch that car for 6 months so . can everyone tell me exactly whats needed to drop the sr20 into the coupe the donor car starts runs and drives perfect , but. its in a datsun 720 (4x4) yes bizzare i know. if someone that has done the conversion can let me know exactly whats needed to get the engine into the car then it would be amazing tailshaft and diff can be sourced later , just want the engine in the car so im motivated to finish it :) were looking at doing it this long weekend i have a full workshop to do the conversion and all the tools but ill admit , im a young bloke with not much knowledge of the conversion. thanks.
