Have you though of using a 7afe head, its narrower and can also make 200hp easily.
The ports are better angled as its a later, lighter head and the only issue is the block with its pissy rods and less bolts for the flywheel. Billzilla.com has a turbo 7afe that he prefers over his 4age. He says with 4 people in the car you cant notice the difference with the extra cc. The only issue is the dizzie I think but a 150usd megajolt kit is all you need to rid the dizzie and have windows 95 and on programmable igntion via laptop or netbook.

that car has been sold and fixed. there should be no cutting involved with this.

Go for it Matt but wouldnt it be better to do it to the ute with the cut firewall?
is you still have it? that way you can still have your a series stocky in the beaut ute. just needs the firewall welded from what I remember in your e15et conversion.

well im sorta #OOPS#ting myself abit. all i know is a smallport 4age makes 100kw's.
god knows what a 4agte will do running a aftermarket ecu, boost & exhaust will do in a 1000 ute :/ but ive scored all this stuff for under a $1000 from g/box,engine to ecu.

well ive gone and done some silly things in the last couple of weeks. i sorta went a bit mental at buying stuff for this and now it looks as if im going 4agte :/
my mate has a rebuilt block with forged low comp pistons that he swapped me so ive got that and also managed to pikup a microtech mtx-8 suit 4agze, also bought of fleabay a '04' 1000km old wrx turbocharger and my mate is making me a turbo manifold and dump pipe for a very good price. i really didnt want that much hp lol oh well

Best thing you can do is get the work done in QLD register it there while
staying at a backpackers or WWOOFing at a farm then go back home :) There are sandrails and light aircraft all over the world that swear by suzuki G than the 4age. Which shows that if a 400kg sandrail is a weapon so would a datsun with lighter weight and more poweful engine. 615kg ute with g13bb will be at least 590kg. Carbon leafs springs at the rear and coil overs at the front 570kg. That would scare kit cars pretty easily since most lotus 7 are 650kg and up.

Be careful Fenix_Longbow, the last thing you want to do is go ahead with a 15 to 20k build off the back of an engineer who has a poor interpratation of the guidelines. When I rang around for my car I found every engineer expected different things. The rate these guys come and go, by the time your finished the guy who told it could be done is likely to be gone.
Your build will be cool but something boarder line like a 4agze in a 1000 you need to be 100%. You can research your self on the rta website. Have a look on page 3 in the notes, second point. Under the matrix. guidelines for light vehicle modifications

From what the engineers told me when i got my CA done in my 1200, the formula used to determine which engine goes in is done by the heaviest possible version of that car. In my case it was the automatic, fully optioned version of the 1200. Depends on which state you are in of course, i can only vouch for NSW.
I never needed a weigh bridge receipt, otherwise with a full fuel tank and heavier seats etc i wouldnt have made it... :( The reasoning behind it was to limit the amount of influence "outside" paties could have on the situation and whether they could be swayed to say it had "XXX" of weight.
