ddgonzal,
I have had it happen before, and it is where the gasket is only about 6mm deep right at the bottom where it leakes from. As for trueing up the face plate. I was machined agian last time it occured to be safe but i dont believe it is the issue. My problem is temp I think as I run a common plate for inlet and exhaust as my turbo manifold as it was a space reduction excersise.

between 2&3 suggest it is the gasket around the exhaust port that is leaking.
The cure is to have the manifold trued-up. It is rare for an A-series to leak here, the Nissan gaskets are good type with a stainless steel ring around the exhaust ports. a bush fix is to use high-temp RTV, or use two exhaust gaskets (torque to specifications)

Hi Sumith,
you can hear it, its a kind of ticking sound (a little bit like the timing is out)but it is only really evident whin the engine is under load, and it gets worse as the leak gets worse. Im pretty sure where its leaking because its happened before.

Chris,
what thickness where you thinking of making them. one of my probs is also that my inlet and exhaust ports are all cut out of a common plate (not ideal but seems to work well enough)

Hey Jolan
Not sure but 2QK4U has been asking me about getting some copper ones made up. I can certainly do that, have a company here that is really competitive on prices. I'm also looking into getting some made out of heat proof material (as suggested by another member) that will provide good seal and limit thermal conductivity (for the intake).

Hi Guys,
My manifold gaskets keep starting to leak at the bottom of the gasket between Cyl 2 and 3 on an A14T and was wondering does anybody have a cure? like is there a goo that will properly withstand exhaust temps? or has anyone tried a copper gasket made out of say 50thou plate? Cheers! You can view topic.
