The moderators delete SPAM posts everyday. I just deleted one a few minutes ago.

The problem in the Photo Album is a spammer is adding them faster than they can be deleted.

The user needs to be blocked.

Couldn't you give some guys who are long term members and on here everyday, the powers to just delete spam post. So not the responability of a moderator but just to delete post. If they ever took advantage of this then the moderators would take appropriate action.

We need to do something

There you go again. What is a "legit" email account? Do you mean an account that is backed up by a verified ID and home address?

AOL doesn't do that.

It is not as simple as you think. If you forced me to pay an ISP for an email account, I would leave Datsun1200.com and never look back. The free accounts have proven more stable than the pay ones. My ISP-provided accounts went out of business, or they LEFT me when I moved ISPs. Not a great solution.

most car sites now have a moderator confirm their account details.
legit email accounts provided by isp r usually:
sharonbushpig@telstra, mikemyers@aol.com etc.

Well yes but if they were only to use the account provided by a ISP such as those i have mentioned then they would be easier to trace as there harder to shield regarding I.P addresses. Thats my way of thinking though and I'm no guru more into building systems and hardware/software troubleshooting than the Networking/server side of things.

Legitimate email accounts include Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.

So how would you decide whom to ban? Our system now is ban those who spam, not those who look like spammers. Many of our long-time members look like spammers, making trivial and even potentially offensive posts.

But only the Branco brothers currently have the power to ban a user either temporarily or permanent. The moderators do not have that power.

Will say it again guys if people had to have legitimate email accounts to sign up e.g Optus Telstra Netspace TPG dodo ISP. Seems some people are confused between having an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and having email accounts if you have the internet on at home or business you automatically have the use of legitimate email accounts many ISP's allow multiple email addresses per account. So if you share a house and internet cost you can still have a personal email. These guys and bots use the likes of gmail and yahoo accounts and they have multiple accounts with multiple identities. Simple solution to a growing problem.

This is the best site around so exclusivity shouldn't be an issue :)
If you love datsun A series cars where else would you go?
