Could you fit rear coupe/sedan leaf springs to the rear of the ute to make it ride smoother?

Of course six sandbags would be easier.

The rear suspension can be made to ride more smoothly by adding weight to the rear.
At it's full rated load the rear suspension is as smooth as silk, or at least mine was with two flathead Ford V8 [pre 1954] engines aboard.

The problems revolves around the fact that the Ute is a truck. It is built to carry a load so the springs are made to hold the full rated load & still have enough movement available to provide some suspension travel.

When empty, the springs are stiff enough to provide a very firm ride.

If you have a spring works reconfigure the spring rate to provide a comfy ride in an empty ute, then you can forget any thought of loading it up as it's load carrying capacity will be severely diminished.

Carry a load, or soft springs, either will provide a comfy ride, but both aproaches have negatives.

i also want it to be smooth coz the stock suspension is terrible thanks

The front suspension originally was smooth, and if you fit genuine Nissan strut inserts it will be smooth again.

The rear suspension they cannot make smooth... no one can.

any of these listed will do the job.

There may be some locals who know of the better ones, but anyone should be able to help you.
