Picked up another proportioning valve today from a Ford Laser at the wreckers.
Spoke to PBR who confirmed that there is no residual line pressure valve in the 180B dual circuit master, like the 1200 units and that it is all done in this valve assembley. Which is actually done on modern cars like Honda's, Hyundai etc etc So will swap the units over tomorrow. Alot cheaper that the unit I was looking at from the brake specialist.

You need to remove the residual line pressure valve from the master cylinder regardless
The pictured valve is a switch to operate the light on the dash in the event of a brake failure on one circuit I does no proportioning... so it can stay or go But rego wants a light to work... so I'd leave it in If you find the rears are overbraking... which I doubt will happen... you can fit an aftermarket adjustable valve to tailor the bias if required

Spoke to local brake shop and they have recomended fitment of new porportioning valve to suit disc's all round. It is not cheap and quite alot larger than 180b unit
They also sudjested hunting around the wreckers for another valve from a vehicle with disc brakes all round that uses this type of setup. Spoke to Scott at Maddat and he is running straight from the master cylinder without a porportioning valve? What should I do? This setup is for Hilux 4 pot fronts and R31 rear and the 180B master and booster is already fitted to the car from the previous setup

Got a PBR replacement 180b master cylinder, which is running into the 180B Brake NP Valve. As shown.
I want to run disc brakes all round and have been informed that I need to replace this NP Valve with one suited to disc brakes all round. However is it possible to remove the valve from this unit which holds the pressure in the rear line for the original drum brakes? This would be an easier option that making new lines and fitting the new unit in the confined space of the engine bay. Cheers You can view topic.
