hi all its been a while.
i ended up buying a14_stroker's 12a rotary coupe which was awesome until it died last month
i have made some progress on the ute and now have a fresh engine .
i got the cam reground for a 7800 rpm peak .
1 mm oversize pistons 11.8:1 compression ratio
triple cut valves Tomei double valve springs and tomei light weight push rods
and heap of port work :)
the old man and i had a go at building some custom 4-2-1 headers. they turned out quite nice
here is a vid of it runnimg . no exhaust atm just headers :P

well, you are building that engine with 10.5:1 compression ratio *nudgenudge*

I was going to chuck some flat tops in one of my a12's and a cam and use these dellorto's with some E85, pretty much the same setup as my mate had in his blue sprint coupe. He told me the carbs from the meth 1L should work fine on an a12 running E85.

i've got a pair of dellorto dhla40's which are set up for methanol i'd like to swap for a pair of unleaded dhla40's from an a-series

Plan on going to 10.5:1 compression ratio ...means I have to shave around 1mm off .
I'm getting the cam re-ground ......I didn't have any problems before it came off the road ..I'm hoping to tune it to run it on E85

how much do you plan to shave off the head? if you're running a standard cam and you're not going to shave too much off you could just run premium/98 ULP if you have any issues with pinging.

So my 1mm oversized pistons showed up today ....but there flat top and the old ones were dished ....will this complicate things or should I just shave less off The head ?
