estyre: as far as i know everything im using is CA18det
ok, onto the starter/alternator wiring: two question.. 1. the black/yellow that looks to be the signal to the starter to actually go... does this need to be a significant power source. the datsun 1200 also uses a black/yellow for this but the 1200 one is quite a small "signal" wire where the CA18DET one is probably 10-15amp size 2. the black wire. looks like it connects to ECU pin 60 on the diagrams and travels with the knock sensor wire (also used on a couple of other sensors). is that just a shielding that is used along the sensor wire? im guessing so but would like to clarify. doesnt appear to come out the other end anywhere on the loom

are you converting a NA harness to turbo ??
1)the pressure reg might be listed in the workshop manuel ,when i did my wiring i checked the start of the wiring section out and found that it has a list of most the sensors and shows a picture of what they look like and tells you what they do ,maybe check there ? 2)you dont need to hook the nuetral start wire up ,i dont have mine hooked up and my motor starts and runs fine ! 3)and yes the standard tacho will run of the tacho out put wire ,as it just goes to the coil pack trigger wire ,but it is joined in at the computer end of the harness (from memory) 4) you dont need to hook it up if you dont want to ,youll need to unhook it if you put a boost controller on it and the computer will work fine without it hooked up too 5) i wouldnt do anyhting with that wire ,it could blow something up if you power or earth it .just check the wiring diagrams out again ,theres about ten diagrams each with little bits of added info haha very misleading sometimes ! as for the o2 sensor you can use one of an sr or just a standard ca item aslong as the plug fits the nissan ones usualy work

i thought you would be used to crap weather living down there! lol..
But on topic.. i cant really help but nearly all the wires you mention (apart from tacho output) are not needed when using an aftermarket ecu... just saying ![]()

nearly done, few straggling wires to sort out
1. What is the pressure reg solenoid, i have a plug for it but not sure where to find it 2. G/OR 44 wire from ECU is labelled "neutral switch" in my diagram, should it just be permanently earthed or powered or other? 3. Y/R 7 "tacho drive output" can this be simply connected to the 1200 original tacho? 4. ECU pin 5, light green wire "boost control solenoid" what should i do with it? 5. i have a brown wire coming from the engine side of the loom, looking at the wiring diagrams i have it seems there is a brown wire which powers a few of the sensors, sound right? just connect it to IGN power? 6. (not a wiring question) what have people used for the O2 sensor? i need to get a sensor from somewhere You can view topic.
